A 2017 study says people who drink tea before their bedtime have better quality sleep. However, it is essential to make sure that the green tea you drink is decaffeinated. Yes, if you’re having too many cups of caffeinated green tea during the day or a cup before the night, you’re going to stay up all night!
Peppermint tea – Boosts Digestion.
If its indigestion or other stomach problems that are keeping you up and sleepless, try grabbing a cup of peppermint tea. Peppermint tea also works wonders for people with cold and flu-like symptoms. This is because peppermint is rich in menthol, which boosts immunity.
Besides this, peppermint tea is an excellent remedy for losing weight, treating constipation, insomnia, and reducing stress. This is probably why many cultures encourage having peppermint tea after a meal.
Black Tea – Stress Relief
Having black tea relieves you from stress and help you make better decisions. While this sounds far fetched from the truth, a University College London’s research in 2010 has results that say otherwise. The research found that participants who drank black tea were better at handling stressful situations. The participants in this group had to respond to stressful situations, including fabricated instances where they had to make smart decisions to find their way out. Participants who were consuming black tea regularly for six weeks of the study handled these situations more efficiently than the other group.
This could be because black tea reduces the blood platelet activation in the body, which happens as a stress response usually.
