Three Anti-Aging Tips That You Can Start Practicing Today!
In life, it’s all fun and games until your hair starts turning gray, and then it’s suddenly panic mode all the time. Aging is not a fun process whatsoever. Looks diminish and muscles begin to hurt more often than before; your strength and energy levels will likely go down by a whole lot, leaving you to feel frail and weak. What gets to people the most, however, is the lack of aesthetics that comes with old age. You can’t stop yourself from aging completely – that’s something we simply don’t have the technology for as of yet. What happens when you age is that your body is unable to heal as quickly as it’s damaged day after day. When enough of these minuscule injuries add up, the process of aging becomes apparent on your body. There is some good news, though. While aging cannot be completely stopped, you’ve got a whole arsenal at your disposal to delay this by a long margin. If you want to look 20 years younger than your friends and family by the time you reach the age of 50, then read ahead to see what you can do right now to achieve that goal!
Stop Taking The Elevator
Do you think you deserve an automated contraption that goes up and down by itself to comfortably take you to your office floor? Probably yes. While elevators can be an efficient way to move around, you’re not doing a huge favor to yourself by using them. The less you use your muscles, the faster they’re going to degrade. You’re already going to sit down for most of your work shift. You also ride a car, bus, or train to work, which means you’re sitting for the most part of the day even. That’s akin to killing yourself slowly. While walking or riding a bike to work may not be feasible for most (although if it is, you definitely should), walking up and down the stairs instead of the elevator could make up for a lot of lost exercise. Walking up the stairs is the same as jogging on plain ground, so consider yourself healthier if you do it. The increased blood flow and oxygen intake will be highly beneficial for your body, which will in turn make it younger. Your skin will look visibly fresher, so you basically win in every way possible.
Stop Showering In Hot Water
It’s one of the best feelings in the world – to have a nice long, hot shower after work. Or you might be one of those people who’d prefer a warm bath. But it’s time to stop. Why? Well, if you’re bathing for too long with water that’s too hot, you’re basically killing off the essential oils on your skin. Without them, your skin will be extremely dry which causes your skin to get damaged and flaky, and you can see where this is going. The easiest cure to this problem is to bathe in lukewarm water for a shorter amount of time. It’s not going to be as fun, but that’s something that we can afford to lose if we’re looking to live a nice, long, and healthy life with better skin. Drop the long showers, and say hello to younger skin that lasts a couple more years!
Spend the Night On Your Back
There are two kinds of sleepers: those who prefer to sleep on their back, and those who’d rather sleep on their side. The former should have no problems at all, but the latter need to change their sleeping habits. This is because having your face against a pillow all night makes you prone to wrinkles which is the opposite of what you really want. Sleeping on your back might seem super weird at first, but you’ll get accustomed to it soon enough. Make sure you get a lower pillow for sleeping on your back though! If you sleep with the sort of pillow you used before, you might get neck problems which is more harmful than a couple of wrinkles on your face.
These are habits that you can start today, just very little changes to your overall life routine. Starting tonight will mean that you’ll have better skin a few years down the road, and that’s always worth it. Plus, your body will be healthier, and that’s never a bad thing!
