What Kind Of Personality Do You Have?
Understanding personalities can play a huge role in both your professional and personal life. The closest we come to determining personalities in others is by branding them to extrovert or introverts. However, there is more to it than just being outgoing or shy. According to psychologists, there are four types of personalities — A, B, C, and D. Based on a few characteristic traits, one’s personality can be any one of those four categories. Want to know more? Well, keep reading!
Go-Getter And In Control — Type A
As the description suggests, people who have this kind of personality are usually big achievers. They like to be in control of situations and their lives. For them, time is important so they tend to overstretch it and are often known as workaholics. They are usually in the management position and have great entrepreneurial skills which make them want to own their business. They are competitive, aggressive achievers who exude confidence. However, even when things go right for them, they are not too happy about it. Also, they are not too good at understanding their co-worker’s feelings as they tend to be too focused on achieving their own goals. But, they do perform excellently under pressure and stress.
Grounded And Warm — Type B
People who have the Type B personality are the relationship builders. They want to be liked and are quite at peace with themselves. However, what they need is to be approved. They want you to look at them and think, “That’s the kind of person I admire”. They are not temperamental, and their warm personality ensures that they are always surrounded by people who are attracted to them. However, they do have their challenges — their biggest fear is public humiliation, the fact that people might find their personality unattractive and disapprove of them. However, their enthusiasm and friendliness beat their downsides. They are not achievers like Type A, but they are dreamers. They are also exceptionally witty, humorous, and sensitive people.
Perfection, Perfection, Perfection! — Type C
It won’t be wrong to call the Type C personality a perfectionist. They are much interested in logic, facts, and accuracy. Hence, they do not like people who create a lot of hype. They like to control their emotions and are not fond of people who can’t do the same because they feel that emotions can come between them and their goals. Many times, they may be mistaken as a Type A personality which is justifiable because, just like Type A people, they are also controlling. The only difference is that Type C people can get easily distracted by tiny details since they want things to be perfect. They are good decision-makers and often find out facts to support their decisions. They always look for originality, refusing to get sold to the hype alone. Accountants and lawyers happen to have Type C personality.
Organized, Patient, But Often Isolated — Type D
The Type D personality might sound like Type B, but there are many differences. They do seem peaceful on the outside — they have a slow, easygoing approach towards life. They don’t like to take risks, and consider Type A to be crazy. However, they are highly organized people, willing to work very hard when needed. A messy environment is a big turn off for them. Additionally, they make good relations because they are attentive listeners, always supportive, and extremely compassionate. However, they do not like change. Not only are they against change but they resist change as well for they fear the unknown, and think it might be unpleasant. They are team players and like to do repetitive tasks every day. Unlike Type A, they don’t get bored of the same work. They aren’t too expressive, and even though someone takes advantage of them, they will try to get along with that person.
So, which personality type are you? Whatever your type might be, it is important to accept yourself as you are. Once you do that, others will accept you, too. However, most people would find that some of their traits are in one personality and others in a different type. But don’t worry as this is very common. Just find out the type that comes closest to your personality. Embrace who you are and make the most of it. Play your strengths, but don’t be ashamed of your shortcomings. Just remember, we all have flaws.
